Bettor Lays Down $1,800 On Giants For World Series
Wager Talk: Earlier today (Friday, August 11, 2017), a bettor at a William Hill Sports Book in Lake Tahoe placed $1,800 in money line bets on the San Francisco Giants ($900 on the Giants at 1500/1 & $900 on the Giants at 500/1) to win the 2017 World Series. If the Giants (46-70) win the 2017 World Series, the bettor will net $1,800,000.
Entering tonight’s game, the Giants are in last place in the National League West (36 games behind the first place L.A. Dodgers) and 19 games behind the Arizona Diamondbacks for the final National League Wild Card spot.
There’s zero doubt in my mind this delusional imbecile was a Giants fan that just can’t face reality. The San Francisco Giants STINK. Dead last in the West and 19 games back in the Wild Card. Only an asshole with too much money can lay this bet down and think he has a chance to win while 19 games back in the Wild Card with 46 games left as this is being written. The true reality is the Giants have zero chance at coming back and this was probably the dumbest bet I’ve seen in a long time. I just bet the Under on a South Korean soccer game (win), and that was a better bet than this.
